This Attention-Getter Will be Music to Your Ears.
Idea by Cathy, 1st Grade Teacher, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee:

One management tip I’ve found especially effective is using a music box to signal classroom transitions times. When I want to gain my class’ attention, I simply open my musical box and let the gentle notes float out. When children hear the music, they know it is time to freeze, grow quiet, and listen for directions as to what to do next. Visitors are always amazed at how well this peaceful and melodic signal works.
